Say cheesecake

It’s a cliché to say the autumn disappeared. But did it? Well, who knows. It went somewhere.

We’re right in the middle of the Christmas holiday, heading towards 2023. I’ve just done some work and now I felt like updating my blog. Christmas Eve this year was the best I’ve had for a few years, probably because everybody seems to be doing a little bit better. Covid isn’t really a thing anymore, even though the numbers seem to have gone up, but that doesn’t appear to affect people these days. My dad is recovering from covid now, I’ll give him a call soon.

Looking back at 2023, it’s been such an interesting year. A fight, in a few ways, and amazing in others. I met my girlfriend, I’ve had an even better year as a writer and I’ve taken personal steps, as well. Come to think of it, I’ve had a better gym year, too. The one thing lacking would be that I haven’t been as creative as in 2021, perhaps. And sadly, I lost my grandfather.

I did travel in the beginning of 2022, and that was one of the best things I’ve done for a few years. Check out my stories on Instagram, if you want to see what I got up to during my holiday in January and February of 2022. I would like to update my Instagram more, and put up more of my work and things like this – I’ll give it a shot in 2023.

Another fun thing to mention is that I’m playing a lot of music – I haven’t had this much time on stage for a couple of years. I even did some worship drumming a couple of months ago, at the Pentecostal church I grew up in. I really appreciate the church drumming, that’s where I cut my teeth. It’s always a good time getting back there, with my keyboard buddy and fellow Toto fan, Petter, among others.

The most concerning thing about it all is that my head is so full of ideas but I never know where to start, I want to do too much. On a sidenote, I’m looking forward to a custom-built drum, from the Swedish drum builder, 101 Drums, based in the south of Sweden. I can’t wait to get it – it’s already ordered. Check it out during 2023.

I didn’t expect to review my year, but that’s what happens with writing – it’ll take you placing you didn’t release. Literally. By the way, the picture shows my mother’s awesome cheesecake that she bakes every Christmas. It was just as amazing this year.
