I’m pretty excited. Do you want to know why? I’ll tell you anyway. To start with, this is my first post in a while. To be honest, I can’t remember the last time I updated my blog. The first reason for my excitement is that I got a new computer yesterday, and the second reason is that this If my fist blog post with it.
I’m a Mac dude, and all the software I use in my work as a freelance writer is suited thereafter. My previous MacBook Pro was getting old; I bought it in 2012 or 2013, mainly for music production. I have some productions done on that machine up on YouTube and Spotify – if you care to listen, don’t be afraid to ask.
I took good care of that laptop, and it was in great shape. My girlfriend thought it looked new… She’s right, too. But Apple like being super irritating and cancel all the software updates when the computer gets too old. I had no choice but to get a new one.
So, I got my new MacBook Air yesterday, with an M1 chip. That also makes me happy. Which means, I’ll have to get a new one in about ten years. I’ll be back when I’m 48, more handsome and more funny than I am today.
Gym today was less exciting, however. I did my shoulder session – which I love, by the way – but there was no drama. Even the weird dude was acting normal today. Something usually always happens: someone loses their AirPods, someone shouts too loud, and stuff like that. Today was so quiet! On the other hand, my ears had a rest.
And speaking of resting my ears, I had my first live gig in a few months, the other day. I had a blues gig with a bunch of dudes I found – coincidentally – through a drummer friend at the gym. It was a good gig but a bit chaotic at first. The venue didn’t have drums as they promised, so the band leader had to rush home and get his electric drums. I’ve only done a handful of gigs on electric drums. I’m always up for a challenge. And we had a cracking time. I do love playing a good shuffle beat.
I’ll try and update my blog a little more frequently now. I’m slowly rediscovering my passion for writing and this is a space where I can let my hair down. And I love writing in English. My goal is to make the majority of my work in English. And when that happens, I’ll be able to take over the world.
Song of the day: Shania Twain – You win my love
