Take my breath away

If you can’t remember the last time you updated your blog it means it was too long ago. So it was too long ago! I’ve been up to no good. Just joking. I have had a lot to do at work and elsewhere so my blog has been patiently waiting.

Last week I was in Germany for work for three days. I thought I would have time to update my blog there but the schedule was just too tight. It was a great trip though and I met some cool people. By the way, it was in Berlin. My fourth time there I think, it’s a very cool city. But I still haven’t really had the time to experience it properly. I have done a lot of sightseeing in Berlin but I haven’t been able to do it on my own time yet.

It was a great few days, and the final hotel breakfast was extra adventurous because the hotel had a power cut. All the lights went out in the morning while I was waking up. And the night before I had shut the curtain, which was controlled electronically. And guess what, I couldn’t open it during the power cut so I had to get up in the dark. Living in Sweden that’s not a problem though! But it was a true space odyssey taking a shower with no light.

It all went well and the power did come back after a while. But it was cold eating the breakfast without the heating on! The kitchen did have backup power so they could keep the coffee machines going. Thank heaven. For seven eleven.

To round up a good trip, the flight back to Sweden was kind of dull, but the landing was incredible. I don’t think I’ve ever experienced such a smooth landing – you could hardly feel or hear anything! I was so impressed that I had to tell the captain afterwards. He knew he did a good job so all he did was give me a smug smile and say thanks.
